In reply to Brett Minor. I agree. Ken Follett's "The Pillars of the Earth" is an interesting book. All that makes it great is the way the author tells the story, indeed. I enjoyed reading it, but I wish there were more scenes with Aliena. I like her ;-) She's my favorite character.

Your mention of the Ken Follett book is the one that most rings with me. There isn’t a single plot line or character that is enough to make a book (or movie) great. In the end, the story will have to told well. And a well-told story can be about any topic. The artistry is in the story telling.

If I might suggest something, read Jean Auel’s books – they are the most beautiful books I have ever read. I think they’ll win your heart too!

I have always wanted to read the hunger games but never took the plunge. May do that now. I have read book 1 of the clan of cave bear, and book one of 50 shades……” I must be missing something or so new I didn’t catch it, I thought it was okay for a book. As I reasoned before 50 shades…. It doesnt matter how bad I write, someone will learn from my mistakes…. I have sense altered that thinking… But I do have new books to add to my reading list.
